I'm trying to book tickets from NRT-PEK, but all of the prices I'm seeing are through the roof. Cathay Pacific (changing in HKG) and ANA (non-stop) are both over USD$1,500 round trip!

What's going on? Why is Beijing so expensive? I just booked NRT-HKG on CX, and that was only about $500! Is there a high tax flying into China from Japan?
