NW still does this, I received a targeted invitation only letter from them in April: silver elite now and 2 roundtrips by mid June or July and silver elite thru Feb 02. A bunch of fare classes are excluded, ie all the ones I fly on when I pay the fare. Luckily for me, I had 2 trips on NW at the company tab.
