registering the card after dining...

It doesn't seem anyone else has asked this question, but from reading the other posts here, it seems the answer is obvious. But I'll ask anyway.

I have an Amex card, and also got an additional card for my wife under my account. I registered my card with rewardsnetwork but we never registered my wife's. (And since it's Amex, even though it's the same credit card account, the numbers on the actual cards are different.)

Three weeks ago, we ate out at a spendy RN restaurant. My wife paid for it on her card. Today, in looking to see if it had posted, I noticed that her cc is not linked to RN. Grrr.

We went ahead and registered it now of course, but I'm guessing that RN will not give us credit for the past dine? Has anyone tried this? Why oh why does Amex have to issue additional cards with a different number?

Anyway I've already emailed RN and will call them this week. And will post results. But just wondered if anyone had tried this with any success.
