What do you do to sleep?

You dread it, especially when traveling on long-haul flights. The feeling of closing your eyes and yet not being able drift off to a dream. You open your eyes, stare at your screen and wonder if you should watch more movies. You think and tell yourself that sleep is important, so you will feel fresh after the flight. In addition, you shift uncomfortably in your seat, creating jerking motions. You find it difficult to sleep, no matter how far back your seat is reclined or how comfortable you try to make yourself feel. What do you do?

Sure, you can pop in some Tylenol pills, but that'll only get you to sleep for several hours. Are there any techniques people found to be useful to sleep on a long-... flight?
