Thank you everyone for your responses! Let me try rephrasing my concern, to make it more understandable...don't be offended if my words are more direct. I'm not interested in finding general dating advice...yes...the usual activities seem to work as well in Japan, as anywhere. What I'm looking for is alone time, just me and my date. If I say to a date: "Let's get a love hotel room, so we can have privacy." she would likely hear "Let's have sex." But...in this instance...I'm truly just looking for privacy, maybe some non sexual cuddling. I think LapLap is understanding my question with her suggestion of karaoke booths...that is one thing I've not tried.
