that being said, ELM probably isn't going to be a good departure city for you on mileage runs. is there any other service besides US?
in your area, i'd look at BUF and ROC as departure cities. I've found that the trick is to look for sales on Southwest, and watch for your carrier of choice match the fare.
watch for WN to offer sales from BUF, and for B6 (jetblue) to offer sales from both BUF and ROC. pick a city pair they serve (for example BUF-LAS), and do a search for an airfare on the airline you prefer.
