Has HA considered starting up a GUM route again? I occasionally fly CO to GUM. Their prices have gotten out of this world and flights are always full to the max. I used to fly HA to Guam when they had the DC-8 Combi a decade or so ago. I would think with the DOD troop build up in Guam, the market would be ripe for another carrier.

I had the dubious distinction of being the last government contract passenger on SPIA from HNL to GUM back in 1984. Their contract ended 9/30 and CO took over from 10/1, but I somehow managed to be booked on that decrepit 707 on 10/1. Thank goodness for their $60 upgrade back then!
Interesting (to me, anyway) trivia: I'd been routed OMA-DFW-HNL-GUM. The DFW-HNL and HNL-GUM were both planned for exactly the same amount of time, 7 hr 48 min.
