Just stayed there this weekend. To answer a couple of my own questions and comment on others:

NO shuttle run by the hotel to the Strip or Convention Center. I did notice, however, at the Convention Center where a big show was setting up there were signs for shuttle buses, and Embassy Suites - Paradise was listed on one of the routes. Convention Center event attendees might want to check with their event organizer to see if one is running. Other than that, it seems there is no shuttle.

Monorail - walk is 10 minutes to CC station at a leisurely pace. North Hall of the CC is an additional 5 or so minutes walking. Not a schlep you'd want to make with promo materials. But it was just fine for me on a leisure trip to Vegas.

Someone mentioned room 901 as having a huge balcony. Actually, I think there are probably four -- both sides on the front of the 9th and of the 10th floors look like they have them. These would be 901/1001 and 928/1028. Other rooms have tiny balconies just large enough to stand on and see exactly how ridiculously hot/cold it is outside.

As a humble silver, my late arrival (1 am) was no problem and my request for a high floor away from the elevator was hhonored.

Cab to center strip was $10. You'll need to call ahead or have the front desk call.
