Reason I ask is because my laptop is refurbished, but it does not have a serial number sticker on it. So I'm concerned whether security might spot this and begin interrogating me about it, or whether I should bring along whatever documentation I have from the purchase of the laptop just in-case.
I don't fly very often- so I thought I would pose the question in a forum with people that likely fly considerably more than I do, and what their experiences with laptops and airport security, again, particularly within Canada, has been.

Thank You!

I travel frequently throughout Canada (also into the U.S.) and have never seen the security people check the serial number of my laptop or anyone else's, for that matter. Don't even worry about it!

However, if you intend on taking it to another country at some point, then carry your receipt along, just to be on the safe side. Actually, I carry all of my computer-related receipts when I travel to the U.S. because I do not want any problems with Canadian Customs when coming back.
