Reason I ask is because my laptop is refurbished, but it does not have a serial number sticker on it. So I'm concerned whether security might spot this and begin interrogating me about it, or whether I should bring along whatever documentation I have from the purchase of the laptop just in-case.
I don't fly very often- so I thought I would pose the question in a forum with people that likely fly considerably more than I do, and what their experiences with laptops and airport security, again, particularly within Canada, has been.

Thank You!

I don't think they will care and I've never heard of anyone looking at serial numbers, but if you are truly worried about an overzealous inspector, go to the customs office and get one of those greenish cards that are useful for registration/declaration of property when going international. You'll get an onsite "inspection", they will record the serial number and probably ask all there needs to be asked before stamping your card. (of course, you have to travel with the card...)

and welcome to FT!
