I have a LONE4 originating in Sydney that was booked and paid for a couple months ago, and the first flight is SYD-HKG next month. However, I want to leave SYD one day earlier.

I've read the rules and done a search, and it was my understanding that I could change the date/time of any of my flights for free. However, my travel agent is saying that it will cost me about A$180 to change this flight. I called Cathay Pacific as the first flight is CX, and the lady said to talk to my travel agent as some RTW fares have penalties and some don't.

From doing a search on this forum and reading the rules, I didn't read anything about that! Is this true?
