In the 4 state area adjacent to where I live, there are 16 Hilton properties and only 2 Starwood.

Paradoxically, there are more Starwood properties in my home country, Canada and home province, Alberta (39 Starwood vs only 26 Hilton properties in Canada) but my travels take me to a variety of places where I can more easily find good Hilton properties. I also travel a lot of places where finding a Red Roof Inn would be a real asset!
