Pho-24 is the hot pho chain in Vietnam -- I'm not sure exactly how widespread it is across the country, but in Ho Chi Minh City you could throw a rock in any direction and hit one. Clearly they are popular with locals, but with pointing it was easy for an English-speaker to do fine, as they did have English on the menus. According to an article I read in the NYT last summer, apparently the founder of the chain modeled the idea on McDonalds -- that said, service and such is much better than one finds at McD's.
I was sipping a glass of Cafe Sua Da as I read this thread. Sigh. Life is good.
