My recollection is that no, the tripto Malmo is a special ticket. You can get it easily at the vending machines or the counters at the train station.
Also, is Hovedbanegården, Tivoli the closest bus stop to the train station? If so, does anyone know exactly where this stop is in relation to the station itself?

I'm not 100% certain but I would guess so-- the train station is right next to Tivoli so I can't imagine you can get much closer (or that a bus runs from the train station to Tivoli!).
