Actually, its not a credit card, altough it does have a credit card option as a supplement. Basically, the program works by giving you a number of Business ExtrAA points based on how much your fare costs. Any AA itinerary, regardless of how it is purchased, can be eligible. So, yes, the more you pay, the more points you get. The points are separate from miles (although there used to be a way to convert the points to miles). You can also still earn AAdvantage miles at the same time you earn Business ExtrAA points. Now the only thing you can do is earn flights and upgrade awards:
