Neither are over an inch. Type 2 was measured with a caliper after I disagreed with the "situation." About 7/10 of an inch.
Come to think of it, the "situation" was in HNL.
Seriously, I got no problems with TSA in HNL except for the way they handle the shoe policy. I usually transport a bunch of electrical junk and one agent and I are getting to know each other pretty good, unfortuantely he's always the one swabbing my stuff
and not at the detector. I think he know's it's me just by looking at the carry on
