I'm very encouraged to read your appraisal of the improved service at AA. And I'll agree with you about the wonderfulness of E+ on UA (I tried it recently and it beat the socks off CO's painfully limited seat pitch).

One of the nefarious consequences of these frequent flyer programs is that we become parochial clans of loyalists, feeding off and propagating stories/propaganda about the merits or lack thereof of other airlines' products.

One thing I find very exciting about ContinentalFan's decision to give AA a shot after 14 yrs with CO is that it will be a huge learning experience.

I know that my own recent travels on US, UA, WN, DL, NW, YX, AC, AF, LH, LX, SU, FV, SK, U2 and, of course, B6 have taught me that there are good and bad airline experiences on virtually any carrier.
