i never received any cancellation from expedia, even though i didnt email in. my res is still listed intact on expedia.com and when i called hilton and spoke to an agent, they confirmed the res and sent me an email conf...i think there have been a few other people who have had this situation, i just wanted to make sure everything should be good with their trip and they wont have any trouble checking in...? any other specials situations to knwo about? any chance of an upgrade if my dads a gold? im assuming not...they already reserved an exec room. will the exec lounge be open again?

This should be OK. If you have not already, call Hilton and have them add his HHonors number to the reservation. You can then see it on the Hilton system, which made me feel better about it.
There is no upgrade from the exec room, as there is nothing better.
