Remember the days, about five years ago, when the airlines could afford to keep lounges with nice spreads of food. At the old WClub at HKG they had an excellent chicken satay, even post-911. When the domestic RCC opened at SFO around 1999 they had a fifteen foot long buffet with all sorts of yummy goodies. (I'd gladly pay $5 for those excellent asiago spinich croissants at the airport today) My dad still talks, with a tear in his eye, about the best frozen yogurt he ever had at the SEA WClub in the mid-1990s. I remember visiting the SYD Ansett Golden Wing lounge back around 1995 with food I still dream about. Unfortunately, like icarus Ansett has fallen. {:-(
These days though, I'm pretty happy with toasted bagels and bananas at the PClub. At least we still have free drinks, unlike at many other domestic airline clubs. (Although I remain surprised they do not serve Shiner in Houston.) What was the best epicurean experience you have had at an airline club?

Reason: I misspelled satay
