I find it interesting that one of the options that they are thinking about is allowing only southern takeoff-northern landings to avoid the White House, Pentagon, etc. As the expert says later in article they can't survive doing that.

They also mention that only 18 planes are left at the airport. I live in North Alexandria under the flight path and heard planes taking off this morning. There may be no planes left at National now.
