We had a similar experience at the DUB airport Hilton. They claimed that we had been upgraded to a Deluxe room on the 4th floor but wasn't anything special. Apparently the 4th floor is the floor that Gold's and Diamond's should be upgraded to. However, looking at the VIP benefits it would appear that if not upgraded to a Executive room you should still be offered a breakfast coupon.
