I never said it was impossible. With adequate staffing, it sure is possible. However, it was jaw-dropping to see two people (Dash 8 equipment) shuffle with everything, just seeing them running from terminal to aircraft and back.

I find buying a next-day ticket for $80-$85ow is pretty good. Load factor does not equal profit. Sell your tickets at a low enough price and 75% still yields a loss. Also those jets are gas guzzlers, and fuel ain't cheap in Hawaii.

I'm not a big fan of Mesa or Johnny O, and the history of newcomers to the market are well against them. We'll see how they do.
