Absolutely, I spent my college years waiting tables. It tends to make you extremely appreciative of anyone who provides any type of service. I know it always brightened my shift when someone thanked me for anything and I now always do so myself. I had an ex-boyfriend who used to be horrible to waitstaff. It was so bad I made a point never to go out to eat with him until he learned to behave.
