I tried booking a ticket on Delta yesterday and got a taste of this POS new software.

Many palatable routings were hundreds of dollars more, even though on a two segment itinerary T class was available. Orbitz kept offering these flights but couldn't price them once selected. Same problem when I called Delta. The agent claimed ignorance until I asked about this Journey Control POS software and then she suddenly became defensive.

"It's supposed to save us millions. AA uses it."

"I never have a problem getting AAgents to price point-to-point. What's going on here?"

"I don't know but a lot of people are complaining about it."

I'm not talking about adding extra segments here. I'm talking about XXX-YYY-ZZZ where there is plenty of T inventory XXX-YYY and YYY-ZZZ and XXX-ZZZ has T class availability for less desirable times (not even different routings) but this POS software tells me that for my chosen times, XXX-ZZZ is not available.

Sorry I am booking T this time, but I am obligated to fly on the lowest possible fare when spending other people's money.

Why you gotta hate, Delta?
