surprisingly Vila Isabel came first this year

With Venezuela's Petro-dollars (they invested more than USD500,000), Vila Isabel won this year's carnaval parade! [Amazing enough, my carioca boyfriend is from Vila Isabel ]

Venezuela's flags could be seen in the celebration inside the rehearsal hall of Vila Isabel. There are rumours that Chavez will come to see the Champions Parade next Saturday.

For those in town there are still tickets available for the Parade of Champions (surprisingly Vila Isabel came first this year). They will go on sale between 8am and 4pm at the following locations (presumably tomorrow).
