I went to Brasil on a business trip a few years ago, and left Sao Paulo for the weekend to visit Rio. While there, with my associate and some other gringos, including a newlywedded couple, we went out on the town and included a stop at this place.
Later, I saw it on the TV show "Wild On Rio: Beautiful Beaches, Barely There Bikinis and That Bossa Nova Beat"

Rio is a beautiful place to visit. It does have a lot of poverty and crime so be careful and perhaps it is a good idea to travel in a small group - try to meet up with some folks at your hotel if you're not already with a group.
