I missed the hyphen in in-active. I read it incorrectly as in active service. I wouldn't say anything to the station manager, but I still think you make a good point that we shouldn't pass up the oportunity to be helpful when someone doesn't seem to "know the ropes," whether at the airport or McDonalds.
