I passed CDG just four days ago and it looks really nice, it's such a big difference to the old worn down check-in islands.
25% of the arrivals hall has also been renovated and looks really nice as well with modern flat monitors showing baggage delivery.
The non-Schengen tax-free area is also being renovated right now so finding your way to the lounges on the 10th and 11th floor is really tricky and many tax-free shops have been temporarily closed or moved.
Overall I think the terminal will look very nice once it's finished, if they could only do something about the exterior which still looks like something between a multistorey car park and concrete factory, i.e. just horrible!!
Will travel to CDG next week and you report makes me curious. Last time I was in CDG some month ago CDG T1 was awful as always. So interesting to see how they improve. Will we see a new *G lounge, too?
