BMI and Lufthansa already use the brand new check-in desks in terminal 1, the new check-in area is located on the departure floor of terminal 1 close to exits 28/30/32 .
I passed CDG just four days ago and it looks really nice, it's such a big difference to the old worn down check-in islands.

25% of the arrivals hall has also been renovated and looks really nice as well with modern flat monitors showing baggage delivery.

The non-Schengen tax-free area is also being renovated right now so finding your way to the lounges on the 10th and 11th floor is really tricky and many tax-free shops have been temporarily closed or moved.

Overall I think the terminal will look very nice once it's finished, if they could only do something about the exterior which still looks like something between a multistorey car park and concrete factory, i.e. just horrible!!
