Actually, I was not suing for the money, but for the principle. Don't know if I will ever collect. The appeals period for GI to appeal has passed. I am asking my friend who is an attorney how to collect. GI has really pissed me off. They are refusing mail from the court. When I sued them, they refused the original notice. I had the local Sheriff serve them with notice. His report says they spoke English until he explained what he was doing, then they claimed they did not speak English. Really sleezy.

Suing in small claims is easy and inexpensive. In California it was ~$25. If you win, the loser is supposed to pay court costs. The maximum you can sue for is $5000.
