And sometimes the 1-year can be applied against the 3-year, and the 1/3-year should always be able to be applied to the lifetime. Even had a WC agent mention that if you're Silver, and you know you're going to go Plat, buy the 1-year as a silver (for immediate access, then the 3-year/lifetime as a Plat. As you say... easy pay...
