The same goes with Microsoft against Linux and/or Mac. I believe more than 95% of the machines connected to the internet in Israel use Microsoft Internet Explorer so developing websites that support other browsers becomes an unnecessary investment and many websites in Israel simply do not support anything but IE.
E-Commerce in Israel is at a beginning stage but is picking up fast. Website usability and overall look improves accordingly.
A little OT at this point, but just something to mention -- the Intel chip fabrication plant in Kiryat Gat is one of the best, most efficient 'fabs' in the Intel system, and is therefore a model for the rest of the world. That may sound an excessively boring thing to note, but it's interesting because it relates to the quality of work done there versus similar plants around the world, and it translates to better financial success because it means that more, saleable, expensive wafers are produced there. (No, I don't know any more than the average 'geek' layman about chips, so I can't say much more; I just happened to get an excellent tour there once and asked a lot of questions.

I
never miss a chance to visit Kiryat Gat.)
