The streets around the Monaco are usually busy at night = relatively safe. You are close to the MCI Center, the Spy Museum and some exellent restaurants. I particularly like Jaleo (tapas) and Zaytinya (turkish/mediterranean) -- both are within a few blocks of your hotel.
