I took UA 902 from IAD to DEN on 11/30. The plane was a 777. We boarded on time and after making my way forward to 1A I was offered a NYT, WSJ and a FT along with my choice of predeparture drinks. The flight attendant then came around with a selection of a dozen or so different movies for the personal entertainment system (I chose "The Longest Yard").

Once we were in the air the FA came around and greeted me by name, engaged in some friendly banter, took my drink order (Cabernet for me) and offered me either chicken marsala or spinach stuffed shells. I went with the stuffed shells (went better with the Cabernet). A few minutes later out came the glass (not plastic) of Cab and the warm roasted nuts. Shortly thereafter came the tablecloth and the entre along with a dinner sald and choice of balsamic vinegrette or ranch dressing. Another FA was moving through the cabin with bottles of wine topping off glasses. The food doesn't deserve 5 Michelin stars but is very good.

After I was finished, my tray was removed, I was given more wine and offered chocolate mousse pie. After dessert I reclined my seat back raised the leg rest and put the movie on the personal TV. The rest of the flight I was offered more wine and received great service.

F9 offers very good service, akin to the type of service I always receive in Economy Plus. With UA (and E+) I get the nice service AND 35" - 36" of pitch, a blocked middle seat (if available) and the ability to preselect emergency exit row seats when I book my ticket (even if its months ahead of time). Upgrades to F or C are a huge bonus!
That's nice.
