Rapid Rewards credits expire immediately one year after the date earned. (Now two years.) So after one year while you are waiting 8 weeks for credits to post you can lose credits earned in the first 8 weks. SWA apparently makes no allowance for posting time. This sucks, wouldn't you say?
I just redeemed a Marriott travel package with SWA RR credits included.
1. I redeemed the package on Nov 2
2. Credits showed up in online account on Nov 8 (with post date of Nov 2) ^
3. RR tickets issued Nov 8 ^
Didn't suck for me, but only an isolated experience...
