He paid 14% in fees; I paid 8%. Although neither of us have the breakdown of our fees to compare, it seems likely that BA is imposing higher fuel surcharges. That's roughly $400 more.
Are the itineraries comparable? Fees etc. are affected by which routing you take, and if you make stopovers in places or not.
