They're not great for checked baggage, that's for sure. The baggage mangling machinery simply chews them up and spits them out. (As far as that goes, the baggage mangling machinery at DEN has twice broken the heavy plastic RCC tags I use on my checked luggage!

For all I know, the baggage mangling machinery at DEN could even conquor Old Gold's "sootkase tags" but I'm too shrewd to let them get a shot at his.)
However, if they're for use in identifying each other at airline lounges, airports, and while on flights, makes better sense to put them on your carry-ons. That's where mine has been since I got it at the
PiP, and it's holding up well.
