Taxes and fees on flying bleu... WOW!
Was doing some sample bookings on FB award booking engine and getting some amazingly high costs for a free ticket.
for example, on LAX-TXL (Berlin) was getting 67 euros under fare (fuel surcharge perhaps?) and 170 euros approximately on taxes for a total of about 237 euros per ticket both for economy and business class. This seems high even by the previos FD tax calculations on free tickets. Has anyone else found similar levels of cost? Can anyone confirm that the 67 euros is fuel surcharge and that the tax calculations are (reasonably) accurate.
Seems like a lot of money for a 'free' ticket!
