Hi,

I am a total newbie here and needs some help on Asia Miles.

My situation is I have 13000 of my 19000 points going to be expired in about 2 months. I checked on the Asia Miles' mileage calculator that it says 15K miles to fly to Toronto. However, after couple phone calls to the different agents, instead of the distance between the orgin and destination, they want to use the actual flying distance since the flight will be on AA and it is connected through NY. Due to that, 25K miles is needed.

So, do the agents correct about the way they calculate the miles? If they are corrected, what will be the cheapest and best way to obtain another 6K mileages? My husband has some mileages but if he transfer a 10K block to me, he will not have enough mileage to go either. He has about 6K to spare.
