I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am debating whether to use my Premium Pounds for a coming trip to Houston or save it for later (expr. 12/05).

I want to know if I will get points/miles on the portion paid on Premium Pounds as I want to get the bonus miles from a double mile promotion.

I know Marriott Points are awarded on net (not gross) amount paid; but I am not certain if Premium Pounds/Bonus Bucks is considered just a form of payment like cash, or more like a discount voucher. How does it appear on the final statement at check-out?

This question has probably been asked, I did try to google but couldn't find the answer.
