Does anybody know when or why United ended its service to Santiago Chile? I have a trip there in a few weeks for which I'd been hoping to fly C in a nice, comfy 777, (as I did back in '97 and '99) and I was shocked to learn that there was no longer any UA (or * A, as far as I can tell) service there.

Ended up emptying my AA account to fly C on an old AA 767
