That's a great idea! But whoever does this should register the car in a state with more lax liability insurance laws than NY. For New York-registered cars (same in VA and a few other states), the owner's liability insurance is primary regardless of who's driving. I'm sure we're all good drivers, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for other people's accidents.
