Speaking of inkjets, I've had decent results with semi-name brand but non-OEM cartridges (Xerox and Pelikan on the Swiss market) on Epson printers for general printing; wouldn't use them for photo prints. For cartridges with a built-in printhead (HP), I've tried refill kits, with terrible results (leaks, cart. empty message, etc.).

As for lasers, my Kyocera Ecosys only takes toner, the drum is good for the life of the printer ^
