A thought from FlyingRev about NWA and responses for your weekend!
..."they are laughing at some of the threats some have made"...
"May I just suggest that the revenue they will miss from some of you (the couple of hundred dollars airfare) is not profitable for them when you factor in the FF mile expense. I have a very good friend of mine here in Memphis who works for NW and she tells me that they are laughing at some of the threats some have made. They are catering the business market first (along with the corporate partners.) The leisure travelers and those who are looking to cherry pick the lowest fares will have to understand that the miles will not be offered. In other words, they cannot afford to give 11,000 miles for european trip (then double the miles for status bonus - bringing almost the total needed for a domestic roundtrip.)
'It is a cost analysis they made and they are going to stand by it.
This is what I am told.'

Speaking to a marketing consultant (in another unrelated area) at a meeting the other day, he remarked to me that essentially with loads in the .80's they will do as they like for the time being!
