thanks number_6, yes I have that list of "eligible" AA econ/disc econ fare classes on a post-it note stuck to my office wall, plus the QF T&C is bookmarked! As you say, you need to be careful!

I always find it disappointing that the "special" oneworld airlines (BA and AA) have those 0.5/0.25 points in disc econ, but give status credits. just a tradeoff i guess. right now, i need all the SC I can get - my QF anniversary date is coming up fast!

Actually the new system may work in my favour as I can route via DFW for 15 SC instead of 10 SC via ORD. Ah, this is a fun game isnt it!
