Jim Smith walks up to the ticket counter and gets a ticket that he had paid for one month ago. He then meets up with Andy White in the lobby and gives him the ticket. Andy White doesnt have Jim Smiths ID. When he gets to the CP, there will be a problem. There is currently a lawsuit over this exact issue. It will be interesting to see how it is decided.
Andy White should be screened and still allowed to fly. It's none of our business why the ticket was giving up to him. If he is screened and cleared by you guys, how is he a threat to aviation?
Again, checking of a ID to a BP does not provide any kind of security. It provides more of a hassle.
I seriously doubt that. We have had estimates that were off by more than 1000. I have seen the load forecasts. I know that they are for the week, not by the day!
No, its fact. On average we had about 1500 passengers on my shift a day. During holidays that picked up to about 2500 passengers. You want to know something , it helped are management decide when overtime should be done and when it shouldn't.
Yeah but how big is your family?
No family but mother and father who were also in the military about 15 years ago with less salary then me could fly from overseas back home and visit family. They did it on comerical flights to. If you planned ahead, the size family wouldn't matter.
I cant? Well the guy that wrote the article sure did!
Difference between you and him, he proably flies through a lot and you only work at one. His observation might be on point for the airports he flies through.

False. At DTW and SMF, they make you hand the BP across the WTMD. In EUG, the BP gets confiscated before you even get a chance to dump your carry-ons into the x-ray, you get the BP back after passing through the WTMD.
Im sorry but I don't seen many contract ticket checkers up near the equipment and on the other side. PHX checks on the side before the Walkthru, a TSA person btw and on the Walkthru side. TUS does the same. Chicago ticket checker, contract, just the tickets then directs you to a line and then the person at the walkthru takes the ticket and has you screened if your SSSS.
BTW the SSSS system is the biggest bunch of BS I've ever seen.
