Just bought a YUL-ORD-LAX ticket with AA instead of flying non-stop with AC expecting to use upgrades coupons... I called the AA reservation center to inquire about that, the agent seemed a bit confused but confirmed that I could use my CP coupons as usual...

I hope the information is right because the number of flights accepting upgrades on Q fare will be going down fast...
