The Eligibility: line, pointing to the Star Alliance access policy page would lead one to believe Star Gold has access to The View lounge. The lounge itself has no indication or signage of Star Alliance Gold anywhere and the checkin attendant didn't seem to know what I was asking about. I was in Polaris, so I assume I got access via Polaris. Maybe I would have also got access via *G, I don't know.
