As I mentioned earlier, there is much more to discover in Meissen than just the porcelain factory. Next, we headed up to the Domberg to visit the cathedral.

However, anyone expecting a Catholic cathedral is bound to be disappointed, as we are in the heartland of the Reformation. That is why the cathedrals here are unique in that they are Protestant and, in essence, are just ordinary parish churches.
Inside, the first thing you come to is the Princes’ Chapel, one burial place of the Wettin dynasty.

The remains of the Krögiser Altar are housed in a separate room. In 1990, the statue of John the Baptist was stolen; it remains missing to this day.
