Some locals are saying there were worse storms but I haven't heard a lot of specifics of exactly when. The one thing I have heard a lot is from a volume of water standpoint this one may be the worst ever. Basically, the wind wasn't as bad as some other times but the water is. In the end, ranking the storms doesn't really matter now.... it's just a mess.
This is the worst storm I have ever experienced and I have been here 15 years. Far worse. When I tell family and friends, most never heard a word about it. I am going on day 4 with no power or water and it will take another week to 10 days to fix we are told. We are getting worried about mold as there is no way to dry anything out. We are moving to a hotel tomorrow now that tourists have been able to fly out and rooms have finally freed up. It is going to be an expensive couple of weeks but at least we are safe and healthy. Many have lost far more than we have or are living in far worse conditions.
